AIESEC Experience

Matthias was a Local Committee Member in AIESEC in Stuttgart, then Vice President for Marketing/PR/Partnerships from 2005-2006 and Local Committee President of AIESEC Stuttgart in 2006-2007. Later, he was an Exchange Participant in Istanbul from 2007-2008 (in a double role also representing AIESEC's partnership with Microsoft), trainer, member of various organizing teams for national conferences and also an active alumnus.

Contributions to AIESEC’s Vision of Peace and Fulfillment of Humankinds Potential

By founding ChangemakerXchange Matthias has created a thriving global community of some of the worlds most outstanding young social innovators and changemakers. Together, the community has created over 100 cross-country collaborations to address societal issues, inspire other youth to become changemakers too and promote global peace and understanding. He is also an active board member of MasterPeace, a global grassroots initiative to empower local youth to create activities that promote peace and intercultural/interfaith understanding.

Biography

Matthias is a partner at Ashoka Germany, a member of Ashoka Europe's regional leadership team, a founding board member at the Social Entrepreneurship Netzwerk Deutschland (SEND) and the founder of the "ChangemakerXchange" community. The ChangemakerXchange is a global collaborative community for outstanding young social innovators. It now connects over 350 startup social entrepreneurs across 70 countries in Europe, North Africa, Asia, Africa and the Middle East for the exchange of ideas, peer-to-peer learning and kickstarting collaborations. Matthias also is a member of the global board member at MasterPeace, an award-winning global grassroots non-profit and non-governmental peace movement.

Before joining Ashoka, he was Microsoft's Community Affairs (CSR) program coordinator for the Middle East and Africa region. He also is a BMW Foundation Young Leader and the winner of the 2011 BMW Foundation Young Leader Award. He received his diploma degree in communication science at the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart, Germany (being awarded the SIEMENS prize for "best thesis in communication science") and is an Alumni of AIESEC and sneep. In 2017 he earned an Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the European School of Management and Technology (Germany's Top Business School).
