Teach For India | India/Greece
Jimit started his AIESEC journey in 2011 as part of AIESEC in India in Kolkata. There, he spent two years as the Vice President of the incoming social sector working with NGOs and schools across the city and facilitated hundreds of incoming internships. He then chose to apply to the national team of AIESEC in Greece to push him beyond his comfort zone. Jimit chose Greece for one simple reason – he believed in the vision of AIESEC and what it could bring to a country that had been highly affected with the global recession crisis and the largest global youth unemployment problem. There he spent a year as the National VP handling HR and Organizational Development supporting and coaching AIESEC teams across the country. He then became the President of AIESEC in Greece in the following year (2014-15). In doing so, he became the first ever International President for AIESEC in Greece and the first member of his local chapter in India in that position as well.
